Newton's Views on Space, Time, and Motion - http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/newton-stm/ - In recent literature, Newton's theses regarding the Ontology of Space and Time have come to be called Substantivalism in contrast to Relationism. It should be emphasized, though, that Newton did not regard Space and Time as Genuine Substances (as are, Paradigmatically, Bodies and Minds), but rather as Real Entities with their own manner of existence as necessitated by God's existence (more Specifically, His Omnipresence and Eternality).
Place-Time
We all know Places that have had an impact on us - Places that we remember because they affected us in some personal way - such as Jerry's and Mine. They may be Associated with How we grew up as a child - such as mine or they might be Places that we have encountered while travelling that made us Think about things Differently or changed our Awareness or Understanding of Philosophical Views or Something so Unique and Beautiful that is Unforgettable - as such in Time.
Space-Time
As for the question of the Absoluteness of Space-Time in General Relativity, it no longer has the Character of something which acts without being acted upon, as Einstein himself pointed out ... Everything we do within our Place in Time - is Intertwined - Within Space-Time - For either or - is the Core of our Lives that we Ignorantly Ignore as being our most Valuable Asset - that we take for granted - As though it’s always going to be there at our Beckoning-Time ... Unlike his colleagues of “Famous scientists who believed in God”; “Carl Sagan” of who I have the highest respect for as a Scientific Genius of Astronomy etc. etc. - is pretty much of a religious Agnostic, but a Scientific Believer in the Space-Time Interconnection with Humankind … As Carl Sagan famously said, we are made out of "Star Stuff " exploring the Stars. We are Stardust and “Why we’re all made out of stardust from Star stuff” Life is the information pathway, by which the Universe Achieves Consciousness and self-awareness,
Believer or Deceiver - Agnostically-Unsure; People everywhere need religion; otherwise people everywhere wouldn't have invented it. Religion is what you get when an Intelligent, Abstracting, Creative Mind confronts the Annihilation of Death: Mind finds a way out. The Universe Knows it is Eternal, and we (and all life) are part of the information domain of the Universe - which is the whole Rationale for the Existence of the Cosmos. We intuit our own immortality as part and parcel of the immortality of the Universe, and we formalize this intuitive knowledge through Religion - of which is one of the reasons of why - I don't Belong or Go to Religions = Divisions - Per se...
